1. Beverly Park
The highly exclusive gated community of Beverly Park is located North of Beverly Hills, allowing for exceptional scenic views from these stunning estates. It is home to the most expensive homes in Los Angeles. Beverly Park is divided into South Beverly Park and North Beverly Park and is located high in a canyon above Beverly Hills, near the summit of the Santa Monica Mountains and well-known Mulholland Drive, just minutes north of Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills.

Beverly Ridge Estates is a guard-gated community in Beverly Hills Post Office area of Los Angeles. This exclusive neighborhood sits between Coldwater Canyon Drive and Franklin Canyon Park. This is a much smaller gated community, however homes here are definitely not. The average home is around 10,000 square feet, with large lot sizes and stunning views.

3. The Summit
“The Summit” is a 24-hour security guard gated community (with car patrol) in Beverly Hills. It is located at the top or “Summit” in the hills above Beverly Hills Post Office where Coldwater Canyon and Mulholland Drive meet, bordering the areas of Sherman Oaks and Franklin Canyon. The enclave is popular with A-list entertainers looking for privacy. There are just over 80 homes in this gated community made up of only 6 streets. Most of properties in the Summit were developed in the 1980’s, although there are several newer construction homes as well.

4. Wallingford Estates
The Wallingford Estates community is a small gated neighborhood located in the Beverly Hills post office area and features homes that were built between 1972 to 1977. Homes in this neighborhood range in size from 3,040 to 8,000 square feet of living space.
One home that stands out from the rest is 2571 Wallingford Dr, which is 43,000 square feet and was up for sale (now cancelled) for $135M. The home sits on a gigantic 6 acre lot, with 17 bedrooms and 30 bathrooms.

5. Mulholland Estates
Mulholland Estates is a guard gated community in Beverly Hills. The community entrance sits on the north side of Mulholland drive, between Beverly Glen and Benedict Canyon. Home sizes range from 6,000 to 12,000 square feet. The community is relatively new compared to other gated communities as most homes were constructed in the 1990’s. Homes here have stunning views of either Los Angeles or The Valley (or both!). Community features of Mulholland Estates include tennis and basketball courts, as well as the 24 hour security patrol. The Mulholland Estates is also home to many numerous celebrities in the entertainment industry.

6. Bowmont Estates
The Bowmont Estates gated community is north of Beverly Hills and south of Mulholland Drive in the Beverly Hills Post Office area. There are only 8 homes in the gated neighborhood on Bowmont Dr. These are large estates homes that were built starting in the 1920's with a large majority of homes built in the 1940's through the 1960's. The location is situated near the Trousdale Estates neighborhood with easy access to the flats in Beverly Hills as well as the Westside valley.

7. Hidden Valley Estates
Between Coldwater and Franklin Canyons in the BHPO lies the exclusive enclave known as Hidden Valley Estates, which is a very popular neighborhood amongst the entertainment industry. 8. Oak Pass Road
Oak Pass Road is a gated community in the upper Benedict Canyon section of the Beverly Hills Post Office. It is an exclusive celebrity retreat with fewer than 40 residences and is a 40 foot wide, one mile long nonexclusive easement.
Unlike many surrounding homes, those built on private OPR were not part of a development, but are a community of individual homes, which have been built over time. 9. Bel-Air Crest
Bel Air Crest is a 24-hour, guard-gated community just above Getty View Park in Bel Air and is located two miles north of Sunset Boulevard. It is one of the most exclusive residential areas in the United States.
The resort-style neighborhood is a planned development that is subdivided into two sections, Custom Homes and Canyon Homes. Houses in the Canyon Homes section range in size from 2,500 to 4,500 square feet and sit on lots that average 8,000 square feet. Houses in the Custom Homes section range from 9,000 to 15,000 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 16,000 to 30,000 feet. This gated community enjoys the feeling of seclusion and privacy being up in the hills, while still easily accessing the major 405 freeway and other nearby neighborhoods such as Sherman Oaks and Santa Monica fairly easily.

Bel Air Park is a gated community that sits between Mulholland Drive and Bel Air Crest just off the 405 Freeway. Moraga Estates is a 33-home subdivision in Los Angeles at the end of Moraga Drive. This prestigious, 24-hour guard-gated community sits in a canyon near Lower Casino and Sepulveda Pass in Bel Air. 13. Brentwood Country Estates
The exclusive 24-hour guard-gated community of Brentwood Country Estates was completed in the early 90’s by the Hilton family. It is located minutes from Brentwood’s fine shops and dining. There are only 14 estate sites in this 250 acre enclave, which assures undisturbed privacy and security. Each site averages 3.8 acres with flat lots ranging from 30,000 square feet to over 2 acres, which is very hard to find in the hills.

The Palisades Highlands is a guarded and gated community. It is set in its own microclimate with perfect weather and is almost considered its own area as it is set high above the rest of the Pacific Palisades. Hidden Hills is a secure, gated, luxurious community which can be accessed through one of three gates at Long Valley, Round Meadow, and the Burbank Gate. All the gates have 24-hour security guards. 19. Laughlin Park
Laughlin Park is a gated community in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. This longtime celebrity enclave was developed in 1913. The gated community between Los Feliz Boulevard and Franklin Avenue is also where you'll find the oldest house in Los Feliz. 22. Fremont Place
Fremont Place is a privately owned, gated community with 24 hour security. It is Los Angeles’ first gated community and located in Hancock Park. The 50 acre community was developed in 1911, with the first mansion being built in 1916. Originally, Fremont Place had 48 lots, but over the years were subdivided. Today, there are 73 mansions. There are four gateway entrances to the gated community, one at each intersection of the north and south drives.
